Quito
Quito, the capital of Ecuador is spreed across Andean valley in high altitude of 2,800meters. The city was founded in 1534 on the ruins of an ancient Inca city. Quito, along with Krakow, were the first World Cultural Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO in 1978. In close distance to capital of Ecuador is located the monument that marks the Equatorial line at zero latitud " The Monument to the middle of the World".
Guayaquil
Guayaquil is the largest city and main port in Ecuador. It is located on western bank of the Guayas River which flows into Pacific Ocean. The origin of the city is situated in Las Peňas where the wooden colonial buildings were not destroyed. The Malecon Simón Bolivor is 2.5km long male along the riverside with mix of green areas and shopping. The ship Guayas is based her.Guayaquil is also gateway for most of Galápagos visitors.
